Don Orione High School was at the Aces Academy in Senec
The final event of the Aces cycle 2011-2012 - the Aces Academy 2012 - took place from 27 - 30 March 2012 at Hotel Senec, in Senec, Slovakia.
Don Orione High School from Oradea took part at this final event, represented by its manager, Martin Miheller, and by Chivari Tereza, student in the 9th grade. The project’s name was “Eduction for Ecology” and it was developed in cooperation with Saint Jozsef High School, Debrecen. During 2011-2012 several activities were held together by these schools, their aim being to enlarge the student’s knowledge about the importance of the environment and how it can be protected and preserved.
The Academy was attended by students and teachers from the awarded projects in 2011/2012 (43 projects - 103 schools) who presented the outcomes of their projects. Also delegations of schools from previous aces cycles, representatives of the Ministries of Education from the partner countries, trainers, an expert jury, journalists and other stakeholders - over 330 participants in total - joined the final event in Senec.
The Academy is the place where the participants have the chance to present their finished projects, meet again with their project partners and make new friendships. A series of workshops on the topic of Media Literacy (the new topic for the aces cycle 2012-2013) and workshops on various themes and methods were offered to support dialogue and joint learning.
The highlight was the Ceremony with the handing over of the Aces membership plaques to the participating schools, the award ceremony for "Best Practice"-projects, the after party and much more!
